FIM (file integrity monitoring)

File integrity monitoring (FIM) is a control that compares critical system, configuration and application files against a baseline and raises an alert when someone creates, modifies or deletes them. For example, it detects a change to a configuration file on a payment server; PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) requires this type of control, and platforms such as Wazuh include it.
