ISO/IEC 27017 and ISO/IEC 27018 are international standards that extend the ISO/IEC 27002 controls to cloud services. ISO 27017 adds security controls for cloud providers and customers, while ISO 27018 focuses on protecting personal data when a public cloud provider processes it on behalf of a customer. Both are usually assessed alongside ISO/IEC 27001.

For example, appetite may be low for customer data leaks, with a tolerance of only a few hours of downtime per year for the payment system.
Nonconformity
A nonconformity is the failure to meet a requirement of a standard, a regulation or an internal procedure, identified during an audit. In standards such as ISO/IEC 27001 it is usually graded as major, when it undermines the management system, or minor, when it is an isolated lapse, and it requires a root cause analysis and corrective action.
