Telemetry

In cybersecurity, telemetry is the continuous stream of data that endpoints, servers, networks and cloud services send about their activity, such as processes launched, network connections, sign-ins and configuration changes. A security operations center (SOC) correlates it to detect threats. For example, laptop telemetry shows that a Word document launched PowerShell, a common sign of a malicious macro.
