Hot, warm and cold sites

Hot, warm and cold sites are the three types of alternate site where an organization can resume IT operations if its primary site becomes unusable. A hot site has replicated systems and data ready to run within minutes or hours; a warm site has equipment in place but needs data loaded; a cold site offers only space and basic infrastructure.
